Mission

Oceanfront yoga was established in 2008 and was the first ever yoga studio at the oceanfront of Virginia Beach and was created out of a need for a private, clean and peaceful environment with no self judgement. The studio is a community outreach, with the intention of creating classes that will fit every type and stage of humanity from children to the elderly. Our instructors are skilled individuals who want to share our love for yoga with the community.

We give thanks and gratitude to the many yoga masters who have mentored us along our journey. A special thank you to Christy Brock, Adam Nuygen,Tao Porchon Lynch and Desiree Rumbaugh whose encouragement, unselfish love and joy for life have led us to this day.

Meet Our Teachers

Connie Weisberg

Owner/Teacher

Connie started in the mind/body business during the 80’s as an owner of the first boutique style fitness business at the oceanfront of Virginia Beach. She has been fortunate enough to spend her entire adult life serving others through various fitness and yoga modalities. Her background is varied through teaching many styles of yoga and fitness as a trainer and master teacher for over 35 years.  “I humbly sit at the feet of all the teachers who have influenced my life, without whom I would be an empty vessel.”

Elaine Solaqua

Teacher

Elaine is a well-practiced and trained yoga instructor. She began her yoga journey exploring many different styles of yoga before she began a regular Hot Yoga practice in 2002. This built a strong desire to intensify her practice, as a result, she completed a 200-HR teacher training at International Yoga in 2006. After Elaine’s training, she did not feel quite primed to transition from student to teacher, so she pursued another 200-HR teacher training program at Oceanfront Yoga. She now shares this deep-founded knowledge and years of application with her students every week. Elaine enjoys the never-ending teaching journey, and all the joy it generates, on and off the mat.

Charlotte Barron

Teacher

Charlotte discovered yoga in 1999 while a college student at Sewanee, the University of the South. Once she became a mother of twins in 2010, her dedication and gratitude to her practice became whole-hearted as she sought a physical, mental and spiritual outlet. While seeking the physical release of a strong Vinyasa practice, she also came to love and value the balance of the contemplative Meditation practice. As a fitness devotee and group exercise instructor, she has witnessed firsthand how the gym an transform a body, but Yoga transforms lives. She found the power of connecting body, mind and spirit in a personal and sincere way through yoga. She completed her 500 hour training at Glenmore Yoga and Wellness center in Richmond, VA. With genuine gratitude for her husband, children and all the teachers who have shared and supported her journey, she shares her love of yoga with a sense honor and privilege.
